Emberfall Chronicle

Emberfall Chronicle is the kind of RPG that respects your evenings. You lead a small party across a dying kingdom, fighting turn-based battles and slowly unlocking skills that change how each character plays. The writing is better than it needs to be, with side quests that actually have endings instead of trailing off.

Combat rewards planning. You can autobattle the easy stuff, but boss fights made us pause and rethink our setup more than once. Gear management is generous rather than grindy, and there's no energy timer getting in your way.

The whole campaign is on your device. We played a long stretch on a flight with airplane mode on and never hit a wall. If you miss old handheld RPGs, this scratches that itch.
