Ironhold Dominion

Ironhold Dominion drops you on a small map with one town and a lot of ambition. You gather wood, stone and food, raise an army, and expand against AI lords who push back smartly. It plays in turns, so you can think as long as you like without a clock.

What makes it click is the tension between growing and defending. Spread too fast and raiders punish you; turtle too long and a rival snowballs past you. The AI isn't genius but it's consistent enough to keep matches interesting across difficulties.

It's all offline, with skirmish maps you can replay with different starting conditions. Good for players who want something to chew on without a server telling them when to log in.
